May 14th  A trio of hilarious drinking smoking diablos by Avelino Perez have just arrived in the festival gallery. Along with a sky blue and gold snail.


May 4th  Two big bulbous lazy eyed La Union frogs crafted with folk art brilliance have arrived in the Familiar Gallery by way of Alberto Perez.


May 1st  Mothers Day is one of our most important days here at Port Wahakaa and for that we are offering over twenty percent off on Cherubinos! A gift for the real life angels in our lives these winged carvings will amaze. Also a Mothers Day chocolate assortment of 20 pieces at a special price.


April 27th  The coastal rainforests of Oaxaca offer Armando Ramirez the inspiration to emulate one of the notable species of spider monkey. This clever and composed long tail monkey appears now in the Exotic Gallery.


April 23th  A new shipment of Oaxacabars has arrived. This new batch offers hints of mocha and an intense chocolate profile. Just one or two of these bars satisfies any chocolate craving.


April 6th  La Union has a small but very diverse assortment of very talented artists. Alberto Perez creates a menagerie of flowering cacti accompanied by animals. Two of these new cacti works are now in the festival gallery. Swirl spiral snails with a puffy cloud profile by Avelino Perez. A musical duo of skeletons to die for in polka dot shirts have also made their way to the festival gallery.


April 5th  Even through multiple earthquake tremors we received these new La Union selections from one of that villages traditional painters Sergio Santos. Burro, Gato, and Armadillo are unlike any other and new in the Familiar Gallery.


April 1st  New Festival Gallery piece, a splendid saguaro cactus with elf owl perched on branch by La Union artist Alberto Perez.


Mar 30th  Two beautifully rendered rainforest toucans are the have successfully made it to the gallery in our first shipment since after the Oaxcan Earthquake. See these special avians in the Exotic Gallery.


Mar 25th  Great article describing the new trend of 'Bean to Bar' chocolate. "The maker finds a cocoa bean farmer and then takes charge of the process from cacao pod to wrapped chocolate bar."


Mar 20th  Magnitude 7.4 Earthquake Strikes Oaxaca, Mexico. This is just a day after we heard that President Obama's daughter was touring the region. The only thing reported was day long power outages. The artists and friends we have talked to are fine. The news seems to focus more on the 5.1 Mexico City Earthquake but Oaxaca received a 7.4! The last earthquake was a M-6.5 that struck on Tuesday, February 12, 2008. What a terrible coincidence this happens when Obama's family is in the region?!


Mar 19th  Obama's familiy enjoys Oaxacan ruins and folk art just like the visitors of this site. Artists and friends in the region were very excited to see the President's family tour the city and surrounding attractions.

Dec 29th  Last minute end of the year batch of Oaxacabars are here and incredibly fresh. Try them in some hot cocoa and really be amazed!. We simply grate two or three bars with a cheese grater and pour hot water and stir. The froth is thick and nothing quite like it. Be sure to buy enough for everyone
