Crimson devil playing a fish fashioned 'guiro' percussion instrument. A pristine figurine from the most remote of all the Oaxacan carving villages. Vibrant velvety hues only available from aniline dye. Dyes are extremely hard to control in a defined area and require mastery of precision and control. Aniline painting is extremely rare even in Oaxaca where 98% of the artists moved to acrylics decades ago.
