Avelino's Fall Arrivals

A very long awaited long delayed shipment arrived recently from Avelino Perez.  Master of medium sized copal figurines from the remote village of La Union known for their genetically pure heirloom corn.  Avelino brings forth the imagination from his every day seen here in figurines of pumpkin people, priests, nurses, nuns, sophisticated cats, and leisure wear hombre lobos.  The styles accentuated in the clothing and color combinations are retro 1950’s and 60’s.  Very whimsical yet classy.  In Port Wahakaa’s 22 years of working with this artist we are seeing confluence in carving mastery aligned with precision painting.  Are you in need of an artistic hand carved copal wood figurine hand panted by one of the famous masters of Oaxacan Woodcarving this fall?  Enjoy in all their splendor.
