A decade ago some Arrazola carvers in the Morales family crafted some amazing new roosters in fighting stances. A departure from the folk art gallo or rooster these birds came in a wild array of feather patterns. Like the sport of cockfighting became more and more scarce the artists moved on to other motifs and the one you see here became rare. In our latest shipment we were dazzled to find this superlative Kelso-type cock. Purples, greens, violets, golds and blues in abundance quite fantastic medium sized piece.
