This is a curious and oddly beautiful nahual we found in an artist studio on the fringes of town. We were entranced by the eyes and the moustache and goatee of this catlike creature. In Arrazola life Nahuals exist on the outskirts of town and have the ability to change form from a variety of animals. What gives them away are their eyes or being caught in the act of changing. Taught by senior artist Pedro Ramirez, Herminia utilizes the same patterning and color choices. This is a delightfully groovy very alive work in the medium to large size.
